5 June 2025 – A single bitcoin miner did a great feat on 4 June 2025. This miner mined block number 899,826 of bitcoin through a site named CKpool and won a reward of 3.151 bitcoins, which is worth around $330,386 (about ₹2.75 crores) according to data from Bitcoin explorer Mempool. This reward included the fixed prize money of bitcoin as well as a transaction fee of 0.026 BTC (about ₹2.3 lakhs).
This is also a big deal because in today’s time most bitcoin mining is done by big companies and mining pools. Mining alone is a very difficult task.
“Congratulations to miner bc1qa8r4up9nchkvdnhcf9feexv2jfantrk48ef374 who recently ramped up hashrate for solving the 300th block solved at solo.ckpool.org!” Con Kolivas, the CKpool developer, said on X.
What is Solo Mining?
Solo Mining means that you mine bitcoin alone, you are not part of any team or group.
In bitcoin, miners have to solve difficult mathematics with the computer. The miner who solves it first gets bitcoin as a reward.
If you mine in a pool (team), then the reward is divided among everyone. But if you mine alone, then the entire reward is only for you – provided you are able to solve the block.
However, mining alone is very difficult because very big companies are working with very fast machines.
CKpool is a website that helps connect lone miners to the network. This was used by a miner named “Solo CK” and luck favored him.
This incident was highly appreciated on social media. Many crypto news sites like CoinGapeMedia and WuBlockchain described it as a big win for a small miner.
A hope for everyone
This story shows that Bitcoin is a system where anyone, even a small miner, can win with their hard work and luck.
Although solo mining costs a lot of money, electricity and machines – and the chances of success are also very low – but “Solo CK”‘s” success proves that hope is still alive
If you have fast machines and cheap electricity, you too can try solo mining.
Bitcoin’s system is such that it gives a chance to everyone – whether they are small or big. “Solo CK”‘s” victory shows that if hard work and luck go together, anyone can make their mark on the blockchain.
